Frequently Asked Questions
How long is each performance?
What should be available
for the SBT performers?
Each performance is 45 minutes.
When scheduling shows that are back
to back, please allow extra time for
students to exit and enter the
performance area. For "Merry
Christmas, Amelia Bedelia" one hour
for each performance is recommended.
Do any of the performances
require special set up prior to
SBT's arrival?
Yes! For "Two Pigs & T.H.E. Wolf", the
performance area needs to be
darkened. This might be
accomplished by closing curtains or
blinds, but you might need to cover
windows with black paper. A black light
is used during this performance, and
the darker the room can be for that
part of the program, the better!
Bottled water for each performer
would be greatly appreciated!
All of our performances are best
viewed on a stage, but we can
certainly accommodate any venue
such as a library or gym.
For "It's All About Math", the students
attending the performance will need to
bring paper and pencil. Also, six
chairs will need to be placed in the
performance area for the actors to use
during the play.
SBT brings their own sound
equipment. Often wireless routers
interfere with the sound quality, so if a
wireless router is present in the
performance area, please have it
turned off if at all possible.
We also require a minimum of two
electrical outlets.
Where should the
performances be held?
"Two Pigs & T.H.E. Wolf" and "The
New Little Red Riding Hood", our two
larger scaled plays, include a 20' wide
backdrop (that can be scaled down to
12' if necessary). If performed on a
floor level with the students instead of
a stage, the depth needed for these
two plays is approximately 15' from the
back wall to the first row of students.
How much room is needed
for the setup of the
performance?
Can I schedule two different
plays for the same visit?
Usually not, but there are some show
combinations that we can schedule for
the same day. "Napping House" and
"Amelia Bedelia" or "Napping House"
and "It's All About Math" can be
scheduled together.
